DAT Members serve on-call to respond to disasters within Los Angeles County to assist victims with their immediate recovery needs.

CERT training teaches participants to identify and reduce potential fire hazards; apply basic fire suppression strategies to extinguish fires; conduct triage; apply techniques for opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating shock. Members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area.
